This parish was established in 1800, prior to which it was part of Port Quilon parish. Church was renovated in 1941. The parish was entrusted to Salesians in 1975. The Salesian fathers besides catering to the pastoral renewal concentrate on the socio-economic development of the fishing community in the Kollam coast. The present church was blessed by Most Rev. Stanley Roman in 8th December 2011.
