The faithful here are an extension of the Catholic community in Koivila. From 1976, worship was organized here and sub-sequently, a Church was built. The present beautiful Church was blessed on November 3, 2003. Pavumba was raised to the status of a Parish in 2011. Little Servants of Christ the King has a convent. They render pastoral service and conduct an English Medium School.
