Padappakara is a peninsula with an unmatched panoramic view. Formerly a part of Kumbalam parish, Padappakara covers four wards of Perayam Panchayat. The parish came into being as a result of gradual migration to this area from neighboring parishes. Sunday Mass was offered in the School for some time. On June 27, 1933, a prayer shed was blessed where Sunday Mass was offered. When the population increased a Church was built in 1948. In 1963, Padappakara was raised to the status of a Parish. A new Church was blessed in 1973. This Church has been replaced by a Church blessed on December 8, 2016. Padapakara is a hundred per cent catholic enclave. A lower Primary School was established here in 1922 which was raised to a High School in 1982. Congregation of the Sisters of St. Teresa has a Convent here. They conduct an English Medium School here. The parish is blessed with plenty of vocations to priesthood and religious life. Many sons and daughters of Padappakara minister in dioceses in India and abroad. There are three chapels in the parish as listed below where Sunday Mass is offered:
