Padappakara is a peninsula with an unmatched panoramic view. Formerly a part of Kumbalam parish, Padappakara covers four wards of Perayam Panchayat. The parish came into being as a result of gradual migration to this area from neighboring parishes. Sunday Mass was offered in the School for some time. On June 27, 1933, a prayer shed was blessed where Sunday Mass was offered. When the population increased a Church was built in 1948. In 1963, Padappakara was raised to the status of a Parish. A new Church was blessed in 1973. This Church has been replaced by a Church blessed on December 8, 2016. Padapakara is a hundred per cent catholic enclave. A lower Primary School was established here in 1922 which was raised to a High School in 1982. Congregation of the Sisters of St. Teresa has a Convent here. They conduct an English Medium School here. The parish is blessed with plenty of vocations to priesthood and religious life.
