The Christians of Vadakkumbhagam were members of Thalamukil parish though separated by a part of the Ashtamudi Lake. In 1961, a shed was erected here for convenience of worship. The present Church was blessed in 1985. Since 1986, it was bestowed with the status of a parish. T V Augustine Fernandez from this parish was the publisher and editor of ‘Kerala Catholican’, one of the first catholic journals of Kerala.
