The Christians of Mangad in Kilikollur village claim the legacy of St. Thomas Christians of Kollam. There were migrations to the area from fourth century onwards. Mangad was erected a parish in 1700 and was one of the parishes founded by the Portuguese. The first Church was destroyed during a war. A new Church was built in 1949. The fourth Church here was blessed on March 18, 1988. The Church was again renovated in 2016. A lower Primary School was established here in 1904. Congregation of the Missions has a convent here. Preshita Matha, an English Medium ICSE School conducted by the Sisters is the education point of the place.
